Overview

Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High School (Tech High) is a public high school program in Hagerstown, Maryland, offering specialized career and technology education alongside a comprehensive academic curriculum. Part of the Washington County Public Schools system, Tech High serves students in 10th*, 11th, and 12th grades, providing them with cutting-edge programs and real-world experiences.

In addition to the 17 technical programs, Tech High offers a wide variety of academic classes, including on-grade, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses, ensuring a rich educational experience. The school's technical classrooms boast state-of-the-art technology and equipment to prepare students for current industry and higher education standards

*NOTE: Students interested in Cosmetology must apply during their freshman year and attend Tech High for grades 10-12. This is the only three-year program, and students who do not apply as freshmen will not be eligible to enroll.

Students at Tech High have the opportunity to earn industry certifications and college credits, enhancing their career prospects. Many programs also offer apprenticeships or cooperative work experiences, allowing students to gain paid employment in their chosen field while still attending school.
